Deck The House
We really enjoyed decorating what felt like a new home since the completed refurb in Feb23. I’d spent (a regrettable amount of) time on instagram looking for Christmas inspiration in November and decided on velvet pink and bows for the tree. Otherwise I went on a candlestick rampage on vinted and raided the local antique shop for yet more. Topped with a few jaunty candles and completed the house with an abundance of fairy lights, and stockings for Ray and Zia hung from Bannister.
Wimpole Hall Light Trail
Last year we did the light trail at Kenwood House, and this year we found one nearer home, at Wimpole Hall. Although we sorely missed Kenwood’s ravey light sequence, Wimpole had it’s own delights including a field of oil flames. Zia was engaged the whole 2 hours and nicely tired for bed. Without wanting to sound like the serious adult I now am, the parking was easy and the food stalls were less busy, a great evening!

My Christmas fashion defaults for 2023 turned out to be violent red, coloured socks and many multicoloured coats!
